CPCS provides a registration card scheme acknowledged by industry for those involved in plant operations by recognising skills, knowledge and understanding, competence and qualifications. The scheme is run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

The Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the gas, power, waste management and water industries, it operates an independent skills assessment regime, which provides recognised standards for the utility sector.

The Scottish Plant Owners Association is an unincorporated trade association founded in 1950. Funded by member subscriptions, SPOA’s guiding aim is to further the interests of its members.

The Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR) is maintained in Glasgow, at the invitation of the Department for Transport. The SWQR holds details of qualified Supervisors and Operatives who have gained the appropriate qualifications in relation to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
